TUBERCULOSIS IN THE CROSSHAIRS

A team of innovators taps artificial intelligence and data analytics to battle an ancient foe.

TB Prevention

For latent TB, the most common preventive therapy is a daily dose of isoniazid (INH) taken as a single daily pill for 6 to 9 months. For active TB disease the treatment will likely be a combination of several drugs for 6 to 12 months. If the strain of TB is multi-drug resistant, the drugs initially used to treat TB will no longer be able to fight the TB germs in the body. The Mueller Health Foundation is currently working on supporting research into treatment options for multi-drug reistant TB.
